Whirlpool of India delivered Q4 revenue growth of 7.4% vs last year, with March 2026 being the highest-ever shipment month in company history. The company achieved temporary market leadership in direct cool refrigerators for 4 consecutive months and #2 position in combined refrigerators and washing machines. Q4 EBITDA declined 33.7% to INR 121 crores due to two major headwinds: incremental e-waste provisions mandated by September 2024 regulations and energy upgrade costs from January 2026 refrigerator and AC regulations. Management noted that excluding these one-time regulatory costs, profits would have been higher than last year. The P4G (Productivity for Growth) cost-saving program delivered 220 basis points of gross margin improvement over 3 years. The company plans to launch large capacity frost free refrigerators in Q2 FY 2026-27. Full year revenue crossed INR 8,000 crores at INR 8,034 crores (1.4% growth).
Margin pressure from regulatory costs (e-waste and energy upgrades) significantly impacted Q4 and full year profitability. Management expects these cost increases to be permanent, requiring price recovery in a competitive market. Long-term margin improvement depends on regulatory cost rationalization and successful premiumization strategy.
