Winsome Breweries' board, meeting on 14 August 2025, approved the unaudited standalone financial results for Q1 FY26 (quarter ended 30 June 2025). The company reported a total income of Rs 83.45 lakhs versus Rs 68.88 lakhs in the previous quarter, but this is a decline from Rs 90.38 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Total expenses fell sharply to Rs 58.80 lakhs (from Rs 98.97 lakhs in Q4 FY25), helping the company swing to a profit after tax of Rs 24.65 lakhs (EPS Rs 0.09) compared to a loss of Rs 42.58 lakhs in the preceding quarter and a profit of just Rs 4.33 lakhs in Q1 FY25. Revenue now comes entirely from the Education & Training segment (Rs 33.41 lakhs) and investment income (Rs 3.81 lakhs), with zero beer sales. Management disclosed that the brewery plant in Rajasthan remains non-operational after the bottling agreement with United Breweries was terminated, and the company is hopeful of a new agreement soon. The auditor O P Bagla & Co issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications. The 33rd AGM is scheduled for 30 September 2025.
The return to profitability is encouraging on paper, but it is driven by cost-cutting and non-core segments while the core beer business continues to remain shut. Investors should note the uncertain future of brewery operations and watch for any new bottling agreement, as sustained profitability is doubtful without restarting beer production.
