Yes Bank reported its Q1FY26 results on July 19, 2025, with standalone net profit of ₹801 crore, up nearly 59% year-on-year from ₹502 crore in Q1FY25, driven by a sharp 53% jump in operating profit to ₹1,358 crore. Total income rose modestly to ₹9,348 crore from ₹8,918 crore, while interest expended fell to ₹5,224 crore, signalling improving margins. Asset quality stayed steady with Gross NPA at 1.6% and Net NPA at 0.3% (down from 0.5% YoY). Capital Adequacy Ratio (Basel III) improved to 15.8% from 15.6% in Q4FY25. EPS rose to ₹0.26 from ₹0.16. The joint statutory auditors (G.M. Kapadia & Co. and CNK & Associates LLP) issued an unmodified limited review report on both standalone and consolidated results. The Bank also disclosed that SMBC's 20% stake acquisition deal remains subject to RBI and CCI approvals, and the AT-1 bond writedown matter is next listed before the Supreme Court on July 24, 2025.
Strong earnings growth, stable asset quality, and improving capital position are positive signals for shareholders. The pending SMBC stake acquisition and ongoing AT-1 litigation remain key items to watch, but the Bank is in a clearly healthier financial position compared to recent years.
