Yes Bank's Board approved unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for Q1 FY26 on July 19, 2025. Standalone net profit rose to ₹801.07 crore, up about 59% year-on-year from ₹502.43 crore in Q1 FY25, driven by a sharp jump in operating profit to ₹1,358 crore (vs ₹885 crore) and lower interest expenses. Total income grew modestly to ₹9,348 crore. Asset quality improved, with Net NPA at 0.3% (vs 0.5% a year ago) and Gross NPA steady at 1.6%. Capital adequacy stood at 15.8% under Basel III, and the bank reported an annualised return on assets of 0.8%. The results carry an unmodified limited review opinion from joint auditors G.M. Kapadia & Co. and CNK & Associates LLP. The bank also noted the pending Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) deal to acquire a 20% stake, awaiting RBI and CCI approvals.
Strong profit growth and improving asset quality are positive signals for shareholders; however, the AT-1 bond Supreme Court hearing (scheduled July 24, 2025) and pending SMBC stake acquisition approvals remain key watchpoints that could influence stock sentiment.
