Yes Bank has received an aggregate of INR 210 crores (INR 110 crores from one trust and INR 100 crores from another) from trusts linked to the Security Receipts Portfolio of the NPA loan portfolio it had sold to J.C. Flower Asset Reconstruction Private Limited (JC Flower ARC) on December 17, 2022. The amount received from each trust individually exceeds the underlying carrying value of that trust, which is why the bank is disclosing this under SEBI Listing Regulations. These are recoveries coming back to the bank from a past bad-loan sale, and the fact that receipts are above carrying value means the bank may book additional gains.
Positive for shareholders — recoveries from a previously sold NPA portfolio are returning more than their book value, providing an upside gain and improving confidence in the bank's asset quality cleanup. No material stock price catalyst is expected, but it reinforces the view that legacy stress assets are being resolved favourably.
