Zee Entertainment's Board has approved investing up to Rs. 90 Crores total in Optionally Convertible Debentures (OCDs) of two of its subsidiaries. ZBullet Enterprises Limited (ZBEL) will receive up to Rs. 50 Crores to launch a micro-drama app called 'Bullet' aimed at younger audiences, while Advance Media Distribution Limited (AMDL) will receive up to Rs. 40 Crores to fund its distribution business covering Linear TV, broadband, and OTT aggregation. Both subsidiaries were incorporated in June 2025 and have not yet started operations (nil turnover). The investments will be in cash, made in one or more tranches, and are treated as related party transactions conducted at arm's length. Promoters have no direct interest in these investments.
This is an internal capital infusion into newly formed subsidiaries rather than a major business expansion, so the immediate impact on shareholders is limited. Investors should watch for progress on the 'Bullet' micro-drama app and the AMDL distribution platform, as their success or failure will determine whether this Rs. 90 Crore deployment creates long-term value.
