Zuari Industries shared its Q1 FY26 investor presentation. Standalone revenue from operations was Rs 210.3 Cr (vs Rs 214.5 Cr YoY), with a marginal PBT of Rs 0.9 Cr before exceptional items and a loss after tax of Rs 3.9 Cr. Consolidated revenue rose to Rs 257.5 Cr (vs Rs 225.7 Cr YoY), narrowing the consolidated loss before tax to Rs 0.4 Cr. Operational highlights include 12% YoY growth in ethanol production, 4% higher sugar realization, and a reduction in cost of borrowing from 10.41% to 10.29%. However, the company faced a region-wide early sugar mill closure due to cane shortage and recorded no land sales due to an unfavorable macro environment. The ZEBPL bioenergy JV is 87.5% complete and set for commercial operations on 30 Sep 25.
Investors will note weak standalone profitability and the absence of real estate land sales this quarter, though the company signals confidence through debt reduction efforts and a clear deleveraging roadmap via asset monetization. The upcoming bioenergy JV commissioning and disclosed order pipeline at Simon India (Rs 100 Cr) are near-term positive triggers, while sugar segment headwinds from cane shortage remain a concern.
