Zydus Lifesciences posted Q1 FY26 (ended June 30, 2025) consolidated revenue of Rs. 65,737 mn, up about 6% year-on-year. EBITDA was nearly flat at Rs. 20,885 mn with margins slipping to 31.8% from 33.6% a year earlier, while net profit rose 3% YoY to Rs. 14,668 mn. R&D spending stayed healthy at 7.4% of revenue (Rs. 4,856 mn). The US Formulations business grew 3% YoY to Rs. 31,817 mn (49% of revenue), while International Markets Formulations jumped 37% to Rs. 7,265 mn and APIs rose 11%. On the innovation side, the company advanced its Usnoflast ALS drug (Fast Track and Orphan Drug Designation), received DCGI approval for Rituximab and Aflibercept biosimilars, and announced a biologics CDMO foray via the planned acquisition of Agenus Inc.'s US manufacturing facilities alongside completion of the Amplitude Surgical stake buy.
Top-line growth was steady but EBITDA margins contracted, which may temper near-term investor enthusiasm even as net profit grew. The strong international markets momentum, biosimilar pipeline progress, and strategic move into biologics CDMO provide longer-term growth optionality.
