Zydus partners with Apollo Hospitals to bring Shield cancer detection test to India

Zydus Lifesciences has signed an MoU with Apollo Hospitals to offer the Shield Multi-Cancer Detection test in India. The blood-based screening detects 10 common cancers including breast, lung, colorectal, prostate and ovarian in people aged 45 and above. It has FDA Breakthrough Device Designation. Cancer causes about 9 percent of non-communicable disease deaths in India, with 1.41 million new cases and 900,000 deaths reported in 2022. The partnership will boost early cancer screening through Apollo's hospital network.
