Atul Auto reported its three-wheeler sales for May 2025. Total domestic sales rose 12.24% YoY to 2,357 units, driven by a 20.25% jump in IC engine three-wheelers (1,793 units vs 1,491). However, L3 electric three-wheeler sales dropped sharply by 35.71% to 369 units. The L5 EV segment, sold via subsidiary Atul Greentech, surged 457% to 195 units (from a low base of 35 units). Including exports, total sales were 2,502 units, up 7.34% YoY. Year-to-date (FY26) domestic + export sales stood at 4,227 units, up 5.07% over the same period last year.
Mixed picture for shareholders: the core IC engine business remains the growth engine, but the declining L3 EV segment raises concerns about competitive positioning in the low-speed electric three-wheeler space. The strong L5 EV ramp-up via the subsidiary is a positive, though volumes remain small. Overall, the update signals steady topline growth but a notable shift in product mix.
