Bajaj Auto Limited has issued a clarification to correct a minor rounding error in the buyback size announced on 6 May 2026. The aggregate buyback amount has been corrected from INR 5,633 crore to INR 5,632.80 crore, a difference of just INR 0.20 crore. The buyback represents 16.93% of the company's standalone equity capital and free reserves, and 15.59% of consolidated figures as of 31 March 2026. The buyback remains subject to shareholder approval. This is a technical correction and does not change the fundamental terms of the buyback.
The correction is a minor administrative change with negligible impact. The large buyback size of over INR 5,600 crore represents a significant return of capital to shareholders and will be positive for the stock upon completion, pending shareholder approval.
