Bajaj Consumer Care reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue of INR 244.5 Crs (+3.2% YoY), EBITDA of INR 42.8 Crs (+11.6% YoY) and PAT of INR 39.0 Crs (+2.8% YoY). Gross margins expanded 140 bps to 56.6% and EBITDA margin improved to 17.5% from 16.2% a year ago, driven by better mix and rationalization. On a consolidated basis (including Vishal Personal Care), revenue grew 7.4% to INR 259.5 Crs and EBITDA rose 10% to INR 41.4 Crs. The flagship Almond Drops Hair Oil grew 4% with volumes flat, while Coconut Oil grew over 20%. International business saw a double-digit decline due to tariffs and geopolitical headwinds in GCC, Africa and ROW markets. The company has completed the full acquisition of VPCL (now a wholly owned subsidiary) and announced a buyback of 64.34 lakh shares at INR 290 per share, aggregating INR 186.6 Crores (~4.7% of paid-up capital).
Margin expansion and a sizeable buyback at INR 290/share are positive for shareholders, signalling cash confidence and return of capital. However, weak international business, flat rural demand, and flat ADHO volumes are near-term watchpoints that may limit sharp upside in the stock.
