Bajaj Finance has allotted 1,50,000 secured NCDs at a face value of Rs. 1 lakh each, raising Rs. 1,500 crore on a private placement basis. The debentures carry a coupon of 7.11% per annum, payable annually, with a tenure of 1,098 days (allotted on 8 July 2025, maturing on 10 July 2028). The instruments will be listed on the Wholesale Debt Market segment of BSE and are secured by a first pari-passu charge on the company's book debts and loan receivables with a minimum 1x security cover. This is a routine fundraising exercise by the NBFC to support its lending operations.
The Rs. 1,500 crore raise via NCDs at 7.11% is a normal borrowing activity for Bajaj Finance and is unlikely to move the equity price. It avoids equity dilution and adds to the company's funding base for lending growth, with the cost of borrowing being competitive for a high-rated NBFC.
