Bandhan Bank reported strong Q4FY26 results with PAT of ₹5.3 billion, up 68% YoY and 159% QoQ, driven by improved asset quality and lower credit costs. Gross advances grew 12.6% YoY to ₹1,542.3 billion while deposits increased 10% to ₹1,663.4 billion. The bank achieved significant asset quality improvement with GNPA ratio declining 144 bps YoY to 3.3% and NNPA at 1.0%. Net Interest Income rose 1.4% YoY to ₹28.0 billion, though NIM compressed 46 bps YoY to 6.2%. Capital position remains robust with CRAR at 18.0% and CET-1 at 17.3%. The bank is shifting toward secured assets (56.2% secured book, up from prior periods) and growing its digital channels with 98% retail transactions being digital and 93% savings accounts opened digitally. ROE recovered to 8.5% from 5.2% in Q4FY25.
The turnaround in profitability with 68% YoY PAT growth and improving asset quality metrics signal operational recovery. The compression in NIM remains a concern, but sequential improvement suggests stabilization. Strong capital ratios provide room for growth while maintaining regulatory buffers.
