Bank of Baroda has submitted its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) for FY 2024-25 to BSE and NSE under SEBI (LODR) Regulation 34. This is the bank's third BRSR, and its ESG rating was upgraded to 'Strong' by ESG Risk Assessment & Insights as of November 4, 2024. Key sustainability initiatives include the BoB Green Hydrogen Financing Scheme (a banking industry first) and the BoB Earth Green Rupee Deposit, which raised ₹1,063.38 crore in FY 2024-25 (cumulative deposits of ₹1,083.09 crore as of March 31, 2025). The bank has set a Net Zero target by 2057, joined the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), and 274 branches now run on green/renewable/solar energy. Reported turnover stood at ₹1,38,088.97 crore with a net worth of ₹1,15,457.35 crore, and the bank employs 74,328 people (26.5% women).
This is a routine annual ESG/sustainability disclosure and is unlikely to move the stock price on its own. However, the upgraded ESG rating, concrete green financing products, and Net Zero commitment strengthen BoB's appeal to ESG-focused investors and global funds that screen on sustainability criteria.
