Bank of India reported strong FY26 results with net profit of Rs 10,527 crore (up 14% YoY) and operating profit of Rs 17,049 crore. Global business grew 14.57% to Rs 16.98 lakh crore with advances growth of 15.82%. Asset quality improved significantly with Gross NPA at 1.98% and Net NPA at 0.56%. Slippage ratio improved to 0.83% from 1.36% in FY25. However, NIM compressed to 2.52% from 2.82% due to competitive deposits environment. Management guided for FY27 advances growth of 15-16% and deposit growth of 13-14%, targeting ROA of 1% and domestic NIM close to 3%. ECL impact is expected to be 0.5% per annum (total 2.5% over 5 years) which the bank says it can absorb given strong capital position. RAM book now constitutes 58.74% of advances with target to reach 62% by FY29.
Bank delivered robust profitability with improving asset quality but faces margin pressure from competitive deposit costs. Management's clear guidance on NIM improvement, RAM book growth to 62%, and manageable ECL impact suggests stable earnings outlook with focus on quality growth.
