India Ratings & Research has affirmed BSL Limited's long-term credit rating at IND BBB- but revised the outlook from Stable to Negative. The short-term rating of IND A3 has also been affirmed. The rating action covers working capital limits totalling about INR 2,514.5 million and term loans of about INR 1,855 million across multiple banks including SBI, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank, EXIM Bank, Canara Bank, and Bank of Baroda. A non-fund-based working capital limit of INR 830 million (reduced from INR 974 million) was also affirmed at IND A3. While the rating itself is unchanged, the negative outlook signals concerns about possible future downgrade if the company's financial performance weakens.
Shareholders should note that while BSL's investment-grade rating is maintained, the shift to a negative outlook suggests the rating agency sees rising risks in the company's financial health, which could pressure borrowing costs and weigh on investor sentiment in the near term.
