BSL Limited reported Q1 FY26 revenue of ₹158 crore, up 1.6% quarter-on-quarter but down 3.5% year-on-year, hit by global demand slowdown and tariff uncertainty. EBITDA stood at ₹12.6 crore (margin 8.0%), up 1.0% QoQ but down nearly 20% YoY with margins contracting 162 basis points YoY. Profit after tax was just ₹0.5 crore, a sharp 64% jump from the previous quarter's ₹0.3 crore, but down 79.8% compared to Q1 FY25. Segmental mix remained stable with yarn at 49%, fabric at 34%, furnishing at 12%, and others at 5%. Management highlighted the India-UK trade agreement as a future growth lever and reaffirmed focus on cost optimisation and margin improvement.
Despite stable QoQ revenue, the steep YoY decline in EBITDA and PAT signals continued margin pressure from softer export realisations and fixed overheads. For shareholders, the results are mixed — sequential recovery in PAT is positive, but the sharp YoY contraction in profitability may weigh on near-term sentiment.
