Central Bank of India has announced a strategic partnership with KredX, India's leading supply chain finance platform, to deliver Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS) services to MSMEs across the country. Under this tie-up, the bank will use KredX's newly licensed TReDS platform branded as DTX (Domestic Trade Exchange) to offer seamless invoice discounting services. KredX is among the few entities licensed by both the RBI and the IFSCA, giving the partnership regulatory credibility. The collaboration is aimed at improving liquidity for small and medium enterprises and supports the RBI's push to expand digital financing options for the MSME sector.
This partnership should help Central Bank of India grow its MSME loan and fee-income book through a digital channel, without needing to build its own platform. It is a positive operational step, though not a material financial trigger for the stock in the short term.
