Central Bank of India reported strong FY26 results with total business crossing ₹8,12,439 crore (up 15.60% YoY). Net profit grew 15.43% to ₹4,369 crore despite a one-time DTA impact of ₹632 crore. Advances grew 18.76% to ₹3,44,516 crore with RAM (Retail, Agriculture, MSME) portfolio up 20.86% to ₹2,34,571 crore. Asset quality improved significantly with Gross NPA declining from 3.18% to 2.67% and Net NPA at 0.49%. However, NIM compressed by 33 bps to 3.07% due to lower yield on advances, while cost-to-income ratio worsened to 58.61%. Credit cost reduced sharply to 0.52%. The bank exceeded its FY26 guidance on business growth, advances, deposits, and NPA targets, and provided fresh guidance for FY27.
The bank delivered robust growth in advances and profitability with improving asset quality, but margin compression remains a concern. The stock may react positively to strong NPA improvement and business growth, though the declining CASA ratio and NIM pressure could weigh on near-term sentiment.
