Central Bank of India released its annual corporate presentation showing strong performance for FY ended March 2026. Net profit grew 15.43% to ₹4,369 crore (including one-time DTA impact of ₹632 crore), while operating profit increased 4.37% to ₹8,479 crore. The bank achieved total business of ₹8.12 lakh crore with gross advances up 18.76% to ₹3.44 lakh crore. Asset quality improved significantly with GNPA declining from 3.18% to 2.67% and NNPA at 0.49%. The bank maintains one of the highest NIMs in the industry at 3.07% with a strong CASA base of 47.30%. Capital adequacy remains robust at 17.91% CRAR with CET1 of 15.61%. The bank has delivered 20 consecutive quarters of sustained profitability since exiting RBI's PCA framework in September 2022.
The bank demonstrates improving profitability metrics with strong asset quality and capital position, positioning it as a stable PSU bank with recovery potential. The declining NIM trend may pressure future earnings growth, while robust loan growth and improving return ratios are positive signals for investors.
