Central Bank of India reported FY26 total business of ₹8,12,439 crore, up 15.60% YoY, with gross advances growing 18.76% to ₹3,44,516 crore. Net profit for the full year rose 15.43% to ₹4,369 crore, driven by 4.37% growth in operating profit to ₹8,479 crore. Asset quality improved significantly with Gross NPA falling 51 bps to 2.67% and Net NPA at 0.49%, while the Provision Coverage Ratio stood at 95.97%. For Q4 alone, net profit fell to ₹724 crore from ₹1,034 crore in the year-ago quarter due to a one-time ₹632 crore hit from recognition of Deferred Tax Asset at a lower tax rate. Net Interest Margin (NIM) stood at 3.07%, declining marginally post regulatory rate cuts. Capital adequacy strengthened with CRAR at 17.91% (Tier I at 15.61%). The board also proposed an interim dividend of 6% (₹0.60 per share) for Q4FY26.
Despite strong underlying operating performance with profit and business growth, the one-time DTA charge depressed Q4 net profit significantly, though FY net profit remains robust. The marginal NIM decline signals margin pressure from regulatory rate cuts, which investors will monitor closely.
