Equitas Small Finance Bank reported Gross Advances of Rs. 38,034 Crore, up 9.07% year-on-year but almost flat sequentially. The microfinance book continued to shrink sharply, falling 34.44% YoY to Rs. 3,916 Crore, while non-microfinance loans grew 18.06% YoY to Rs. 34,118 Crore. Total Deposits rose 18.27% YoY to Rs. 44,379 Crore, with CASA deposits up 11.33% YoY. Asset quality deteriorated, with overall annualized net slippage worsening to 4.35% from 3.16% in Q4 FY25, and microfinance slippage spiking to 19.75% from 12.85%. Microfinance collection efficiency held at 97.97%, though Karnataka remained weak at 94.62%. Unsecured loans account for only 10% of the book, with 90% secured.
Mixed signals for shareholders: strong deposit growth and a shift toward secured lending are positives, but rising slippages, especially the sharp jump in microfinance stress, point to asset quality concerns that could weigh on near-term profitability and stock sentiment.
