Gujarat Pipavav Port reported Q4 FY25 container volumes of 172,000 TEUs, down about 8.5% from 188,000 TEUs in Q4 FY24. Dry bulk volumes also fell to 0.46 Mn MT versus 0.51 Mn MT a year ago, while liquid cargo rose slightly to 0.40 Mn MT. Ro-Ro units continued to grow, reaching 48,000 units in Q4 vs 34,000 last year. For the full year FY25, containers declined roughly 14% to 694,000 TEUs (from 808,000 in FY24) and dry bulk dropped about 18% to 2.21 Mn MT. Liquid volumes grew ~14% to 1.46 Mn MT and Ro-Ro surged nearly 69% to 164,000 units, partially offsetting the weakness.
The double-digit annual decline in container and dry bulk volumes is a negative signal for port revenues and utilisation, though strong growth in Ro-Ro and liquid segments provides some cushion. Investors should watch whether the container slowdown persists, as it could pressure FY26 earnings.
