IDFC First Bank filed the transcript of its Q1 FY26 earnings call held on July 26, 2025. Balance sheet grew 18% YoY to ~INR 3.6 lakh crore, with customer deposits up 26% YoY at INR 2.57 lakh crore and CASA ratio improving to 48%. Funded assets grew 21% YoY to INR 2.53 lakh crore, while the microfinance portfolio contracted 37% YoY to INR 8,354 crore. GNPA rose marginally to 1.97% (from 1.87%) and net NPA to 0.55%. NII grew 5.1% YoY to INR 4,933 crore, NIM on AUM moderated 24 bps to 5.71%, and PAT stood at INR 463 crore (up 52% sequentially, down 32% YoY). Management guides NIM to restore to ~5.8% by Q4 FY26, credit cost of 2–2.05% for the year, and a cost-to-income target of 65% by FY27. The INR 7,500 crore capital raise is expected to conclude in Q2, pushing CRAR to 17.6%.
Short-term pressure on margins and profitability from MFI contraction and repo rate pass-through, but management's clear guidance for margin recovery by Q4 FY26 and incoming capital raise should support growth. Investors should watch Q2 for repo transmission impact and MFI bottoming near INR 7,500 crore.
