India Shelter Finance reported strong Q1FY26 results with AUM growing 34% YoY to Rs. 8,712 Cr and disbursements up 24% YoY at Rs. 887 Cr. Profit after tax jumped 43% YoY to Rs. 119 Cr, with annualised ROE expanding to 17.2% (from 14.3%) and ROA at 6.0%. Spreads widened 30 bps YoY to 6.4% as cost of funds improved 10 bps QoQ to 8.6%, while Opex-to-AUM declined to 4.2% from 4.4%. Asset quality was largely stable with Gross Stage 3 at 1.2% and Net Stage 3 at 0.9%, though 30+ DPD rose to 4.5% from 3.1% sequentially. The company added 24 new branches (total 290), holds a comfortable liquidity buffer of Rs. 1,216 Cr, and carries an AA- credit rating.
Strong all-round Q1 with healthy AUM growth, expanding profitability margins, and stable asset quality should support positive sentiment. The rising 30+ DPD warrants monitoring despite stable headline NPAs. Stock price impact likely positive given the beat on margins and ROE expansion.
