Indian Bank reported provisional Q1 FY26 business figures showing Total Business at Rs. 13.44 lakh crore, up 10.2% YoY. Total Deposits grew 9.3% YoY to Rs. 7.44 lakh crore, with Savings Bank deposits up 3% and Current Account deposits up 8.6%. Gross Advances rose 11.3% YoY to Rs. 6.00 lakh crore. The RAM (Retail, Agriculture, MSME) domestic book grew 16% YoY to Rs. 3.63 lakh crore, the fastest-growing segment. Figures are unaudited and subject to review by statutory auditors.
Double-digit YoY growth in advances and a strong 16% jump in the priority RAM segment signal healthy loan demand and business momentum, which is positive for shareholders. The deposit growth, though decent, lags advances, which may put some pressure on the bank's net interest margin.
