Indian Bank's Board on May 3, 2025 approved audited standalone and consolidated financial results for Q4 and FY ended March 31, 2025. The bank reported standalone net profit of Rs.10,918 crore for FY25, up about 35% from Rs.8,063 crore in FY24, while Q4 FY25 net profit grew to Rs.2,956 crore from Rs.2,247 crore. Total income rose to Rs.71,226 crore from Rs.63,482 crore. Asset quality improved sharply with Gross NPAs falling to 3.09% (from 3.95%) and Net NPAs to 0.19% (from 0.43%); NPA provision coverage stands at 98.10%. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs.16.25 per share (162.50% of paid-up capital) and approved a capital raising plan of up to Rs.5,000 crore in equity (via QIP/FPO/Rights Issue) and up to Rs.2,000 crore in AT-1/Tier-2 Basel III bonds. Statutory auditors issued an unmodified opinion on the results.
Strong profit growth, healthy dividend, and improved asset quality are positive for shareholders. The proposed capital raise of up to Rs.7,000 crore combined could lead to equity dilution and is subject to market conditions, which may cap near-term upside.
