Indian Overseas Bank's Asset and Liabilities Management Committee has reduced the MCLR by 10 basis points across all tenors following a review on 14.07.2025. The new rates, effective from 15.07.2025, see the overnight MCLR fall to 8.15% (from 8.25%), one-month to 8.40%, three-month to 8.55%, six-month to 8.80%, and one, two, and three-year MCLRs drop to 9.00%, 9.00%, and 9.05% respectively. This is a uniform 10 bps cut applied across every tenor bucket. The revision is a routine periodic reset of the bank's benchmark lending rate.
A lower MCLR translates to slightly cheaper loan rates for new and renewing borrowers, which could support loan growth but marginally squeeze the bank's net interest margins. For shareholders, the 10 bps cut is modest and in line with the current rate-easing environment, so the direct stock impact is likely limited.
