IndusInd Bank reported a massive Q4 FY25 net loss of ₹2,329 crs, down 199% YoY and 266% QoQ, with revenue halving year-on-year. Net Interest Margin collapsed 201 basis points YoY to 2.25%, and the cost-to-income ratio spiked sharply to 113.07% from 48.23% a year ago, pushing the bank to an operating loss of ₹491 crs. A one-off derivative accounting impact of -₹1,960 crs weighed heavily on results. Total income fell 52% YoY to ₹3,757 crs, and GNPA rose to 3.13% with microfinance GNPA at a concerning 13.18%. Capital adequacy remains healthy at 16.24% CRAR, deposits grew 7% YoY to ₹4.1 lakh crore, but advances shrank 6% QoQ. Both MD & CEO Sumant Kathpalia and Deputy CEO/CFO Arun Khurana resigned in late April 2025.
Severely negative quarter with the first reported loss in recent memory, driven by a derivative accounting issue and microfinance stress; combined with the exit of both the CEO and CFO, this signals material governance and asset quality concerns that are likely to keep the stock under pressure until the new management outlines a clear recovery roadmap.
