IndusInd Bank reported Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) consolidated net profit of ₹604 crores, down sharply from ₹2,171 crores in Q1 FY25, though the bank noted a return to profitability on a quarterly basis after the prior quarter's setback. Net Interest Income fell to ₹4,640 crores (from ₹5,408 crores YoY) and Net Interest Margin compressed to 3.46% (from 4.25%). Asset quality weakened sequentially, with Gross NPA rising to 3.64% (from 3.13% in Q4 FY25) and Net NPA to 1.12% (from 0.95%); total loan-related provisions stood at ₹10,472 crores. The bank maintained a strong capital position with CRAR at 16.63% (excluding Q1 profits) and healthy liquidity with LCR at 141%. Deposits were nearly flat at ₹3,97,144 crores and advances declined to ₹3,33,694 crores, while the distribution network expanded to 3,110 branches serving ~42 million customers.
While the return to quarterly profit and stable liquidity are positives, the ~72% YoY plunge in earnings, margin compression, and deterioration in NPAs are likely to weigh on investor sentiment in the near term. Management's commentary on leadership transition and the 'One IndusInd' restructuring strategy may keep the stock volatile until clarity emerges on the new CEO appointment.
