Jubilant Agri and Consumer Products reported strong consolidated Q2 FY26 results with net sales rising 26% year-on-year to INR 5,130 million and EBITDA jumping 52% to INR 639 million, expanding margins by 214 basis points to 12.5%. Profit after tax grew 71% to INR 423 million, with diluted EPS at INR 27.41 versus INR 16.27 a year ago. The Agri Products segment was the standout performer, with revenue up 58% and EBIT soaring 583% to INR 289 million, helped by favorable monsoons, channel expansion and a new NPK fertilizer launch. Adhesives delivered steady 20-21% revenue growth with healthy margins, while the Performance Polymers & Chemicals segment (including adhesives) saw a 6% dip in segment EBIT due to global slowdown in tyres/industrial polymers and US tariff-related softness in food polymers. The Board approved a 1:1 demerger of the Agri Division into a new listed entity called Jubilant Agri Solutions Limited, subject to regulatory approvals, and a INR 50 crore capex for a 30,000 MTPA capacity expansion of the Performance Polymers business in Vadodara, to be funded mainly through internal accruals.
Strong margin expansion and robust Agri segment growth should be viewed positively by investors, though the demerger of the Agri business (its highest-growth vertical) into a separate listed entity may change the investment thesis and unlock value over time. Investors should also note the segment-level pressure in Polymers & Chemicals from global demand softness, even as overall company margins improved and the balance sheet remains nearly debt-free with a D/E of 0.15.
