Kotak Bank Q1 FY27 results: Net profit up 26% YoY, NPA ratios improve

Kotak Mahindra Bank posted Q1 FY27 results. Standalone net profit rose 25.6% YoY to 4,123 crore; consolidated net profit grew 22.5% to 5,480 crore. Standalone total income was 17,816 crore, consolidated 30,069 crore. Asset quality improved with gross NPA at 1.18% versus 1.48% YoY, net NPA at 0.27%. Capital adequacy ratio at 22.78%. The bank signed a deal to acquire Deutsche Bank's India retail and wealth business. Joint statutory auditors changed to M M Nissim and Deloitte from KKC and Deloitte.
Strong Q1 profit growth and improving asset quality support the stock. The Deutsche Bank acquisition could meaningfully scale retail and wealth businesses.
