Muthoot Finance reported record-high consolidated Loan AUM of ₹1,33,938 Cr in Q1 FY26, up 37% year-on-year, with standalone AUM at ₹1,20,031 Cr (+42% YoY). Consolidated Profit After Tax jumped 65% YoY to ₹1,974 Cr, while standalone PAT nearly doubled to ₹2,046 Cr (+90% YoY). Gold Loan AUM, the core business, grew 40% YoY to ₹1,13,194 Cr, and average gold loan per branch reached a record ₹23.21 Cr. The company crossed ₹1 Trillion in market capitalisation, with 209 tonnes of gold held as security and 7,413 group branches. Net Interest Margin improved to 12.15% (vs 11.27% in Q4 FY25) and Return on Equity was strong at 28.28%. Subsidiary Belstar Microfinance posted a loss of ₹1,280 mn while Muthoot Money and Asia Asset Finance reported strong growth.
Strong quarterly performance with record profits, AUM growth, and improving NIM should be viewed positively by shareholders, supporting the recent ₹1 Trillion market cap milestone. The 90% standalone PAT growth and margin expansion signal robust operational momentum, though the loss at Belstar Microfinance subsidiary is a minor concern.
