Muthoot Finance has launched a mandate to raise funds through a benchmark-sized USD-denominated senior secured bond offering under its existing US$ 2 billion GMTN Programme. The company has appointed Deutsche Bank and Standard Chartered Bank as Joint Global Coordinators and Joint Bookrunners, with an investor conference call held on 25th August 2025. The proposed Notes have a 4.5-year door-to-door tenor and 4-year weighted average life, expected to be rated BB+ by S&P (company rated Ba1/BB+/BB+ across Moody's, S&P, and Fitch). The proceeds will be used for onward lending and other permitted activities under RBI's External Commercial Borrowings (ECB) guidelines. The actual bond issuance will depend on market conditions.
This is a debt-raising exercise, not an equity dilution, so existing shareholders are not impacted on the ownership front. A successful USD bond issuance at competitive rates would diversify Muthoot Finance's funding sources and support lending growth, while weak demand or high pricing could raise borrowing costs.
