Muthoot Microfin has allotted 7,500 rated, secured, listed, taxable, transferable, redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on a private placement basis. Each NCD has a face value of ₹1,00,000, taking the total issue size to ₹75 crores. The debentures carry a coupon of 9.80% per annum, paid monthly, and have a 24-month tenure maturing on November 4, 2027. They are secured by a first-ranking exclusive charge on identified receivables (book debts) with 1.1x asset cover, and will be listed on BSE. The allotment was approved by the Debenture Issue and Allotment Committee under the broader board approval from May 8, 2025.
This ₹75 crore NCD raise will strengthen Muthoot Microfin's borrowing base to support its lending operations. The 9.80% monthly coupon reflects standard borrowing cost for an NBFC-MFI and should not be dilutive to existing shareholders as these are pure debt instruments, not equity. Existing equity holders face no change in ownership, though overall debt levels on the balance sheet will rise.
