Punjab National Bank has been fined Rs. 3,35,000 (plus applicable GST) by NSE Limited for failing to close vulnerabilities identified during the mandatory Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) for FY2024-25. The penalty was issued for non-compliance with a SEBI cybersecurity circular dated February 6, 2023. PNB received the order on June 10, 2025, and the bank has already requested NSE to review the penalty. The disclosure was made under SEBI's Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) regulations.
The penalty amount is very small relative to PNB's size and is unlikely to impact the stock price or operations. However, the lapse in cybersecurity compliance may raise minor governance concerns among investors.
