Punjab National Bank has revised its MCLR rates across tenors effective 1 August 2025, with the benchmark rates being reduced by about 5 basis points across the curve. The Overnight MCLR falls from 8.20% to 8.15%, One Month from 8.35% to 8.30%, Three Months from 8.55% to 8.50%, and the Three Year MCLR moves from 9.20% to 9.15%. The Repo Linked Lending Rate (RLLR) remains unchanged at 8.35% (including BSP of 0.10%) and the Base Rate stays at 9.50%. This is a routine monthly revision of internal benchmark lending rates used for pricing of floating-rate loans.
Lower MCLR may marginally support loan demand and credit growth, but could put slight pressure on the bank's net interest margins. Overall a neutral-to-slightly-negative event for near-term profitability, with no direct impact on shareholders beyond standard rate-sensitive lending economics.
