SAL Automotive Ltd reported FY2026 total income of Rs 38,444 Lakhs, up ~1.8% from Rs 37,776 Lakhs in FY2025 — a modest single-digit revenue increase driven by the Automobile Components segment (up 23.7% to Rs 18,765 Lakhs) partially offset by a decline in Agriculture Implements (down 13% to Rs 19,679 Lakhs). Net profit after tax surged to Rs 539 Lakhs from just Rs 93 Lakhs in FY2025, a nearly 5x jump, boosted partly by lower other expenses and the bonus share issuance diluting comparatives. EPS (post-bonus) stood at Rs 21.99 for FY2026. Operating cash flow turned negative at Rs 427 Lakhs vs a positive Rs 954 Lakhs in FY2025, a significant deterioration in cash generation. The Board recommended a 20% dividend (Rs 2 per share) and the auditors issued an unmodified opinion. A Rs 58 Lakh exceptional charge was recorded due to new Indian Labour Codes increasing gratuity and leave liabilities.
The sharp PAT jump is positive but partly reflects the low FY2025 base; investors should note the weak revenue growth and the negative operating cash flow, which raises questions about earnings quality despite the bottom-line improvement.
