Shoppers Stop reported a significant shift from profit to loss for FY26. Standalone net loss was Rs 46.24 Crores versus net profit of Rs 6.74 Crores in FY25, while consolidated net loss was Rs 36.09 Crores versus profit of Rs 10.89 Crores. Q4 standalone revenue was Rs 1,117.32 Crores with a net loss of Rs 18.28 Crores. The Board also approved re-appointing Mr. Arun Sirdeshmukh as Independent Director for another 5-year term starting October 2026, and re-appointed PwC as internal auditors for one year. Additionally, the company plans to invest up to Rs 40 Crores in its wholly-owned beauty subsidiary Global SS Beauty Brands Limited through a rights issue of preference shares, on top of its existing Rs 110 Crores investment.
The company swung from profit to substantial loss in FY26, which is negative for shareholders. However, the Rs 40 Crores investment in the beauty subsidiary signals continued expansion in the beauty retail segment. The unmodified auditor opinion provides some comfort on financial reporting quality despite the losses.
