India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) has affirmed the credit ratings of Shriram Finance Limited across all its debt instruments at IND AA+/Stable for long-term and IND A1+ for short-term borrowings. New ratings of IND AA+/Stable were assigned to additional NCDs worth Rs. 30,000 million and derivative instruments worth Rs. 9,460 million. The total NCD size was marginally reduced from Rs. 341,498.85 million to Rs. 330,758.85 million. The affirmation reflects Shriram Finance's large and diversified NBFC franchise with AUM of Rs. 2.6 trillion, improving asset quality (gross NPAs fell to 4.55% from 5.45%), strong capital adequacy (tier-1 of 20.03%), and a healthy funding mix. Net profit for FY25 stood at Rs. 97.6 billion, up from Rs. 71.9 billion in FY24.
The rating affirmation signals continued credit strength and stability for Shriram Finance, which is positive for shareholders and existing bondholders. It should support the company's borrowing costs and investor confidence, though the AA+/Stable outlook indicates no immediate rating upgrade is expected. The new NCD and derivative instrument assignments show continued access to debt markets.
