Shriram Finance's wholly owned subsidiary, Shriram Overseas Investments Limited, has sold its entire 81.63% stake (7,55,146 ordinary shares of SGD 1 face value) in Singapore-based Bharath Investments Pte. Limited. The total consideration received was USD 172,000, with the buyer being Mr. Ali Junaid Abid, a Non-Resident Indian who is not related to the promoters. Bharath contributed 0% to revenue and only Rs 3.36 crores (0.01%) to net worth in FY2025, making it a negligible part of the group. As a result, Bharath is no longer a step-down subsidiary and Bahrain-based Armour Insurance Services WLL has also ceased to be an associate. The transaction completes a disinvestment process first flagged in May 2025.
The financial impact on Shriram Finance is minimal given the near-zero revenue and negligible net worth contribution of the divested entity. Shareholders should view this as a routine portfolio simplification of non-core overseas holdings, with no material effect on earnings or stock price.
