Shriram Finance reported strong Q4 FY26 results with PAT growing 40.86% YoY to Rs 3,013.57 crore. AUM stood at Rs 3,02,274 crore, up 14.85% YoY, while NIM improved to 8.61% from 8.25% a year ago. The company completed a landmark Rs 39,618 crore preferential allotment to MUFG Bank, giving the Japanese bank a 20% stake and boosting capital adequacy to 34%. Disbursements grew 14.91% YoY to Rs 50,952 crore. Gross Stage 3 asset quality remained stable at 4.58%. The board recommended a total dividend of Rs 10.8 per share for FY26. Management guided for 18% AUM growth in FY27 with NIM of 8.5% and cost-to-income ratio of 26-27%. Management acknowledged headwinds from potential monsoon shortfall and geopolitical tensions but expects FY27 growth to be driven by new vehicle financing (15-20% of disbursements) and strong used vehicle demand.
The MUFG investment provides a strong capital buffer for growth expansion while the 18% AUM growth guidance demonstrates management confidence despite near-term macroeconomic uncertainties. The NIM guidance of 8.5% appears conservative given the cost of funds benefit expected from the recent credit rating upgrade.
