SBI shared its FY25 analyst presentation covering results for Q4 and year ended March 31, 2025. Net Profit for FY25 rose 16.08% YoY to ₹70,901 crores, while Operating Profit crossed ₹1 lakh crore for the first time at ₹1,10,579 crores (up 17.89%). Total deposits grew 9.48% to ₹53.82 lakh crore and gross advances grew 12.03% to ₹42.21 lakh crore, with the domestic CD ratio at 69.71%. Asset quality improved with Gross NPA falling to 1.82% and Net NPA to 0.47%; credit cost for the year was 0.38% and PCR stood at 74.42% (92.08% including AUCA). NIMs, however, contracted 19 bps to 3.09% (whole bank), and Q4FY25 net profit dipped nearly 10% YoY to ₹18,643 crores due to a one-time pension provision of ₹7,100 crores. ROA was 1.10%, ROE 19.87%, and Cost-to-Income ratio improved to 51.64% from 55.66%.
Strong headline numbers, record operating profit, improving asset quality and steady credit growth are positives for shareholders, supported by a higher dividend of ₹15.90 per share. However, declining NIMs and the one-time pension hit to Q4 profit may temper near-term sentiment; the medium-term outlook hinges on management's view that RoE will stay above credit growth.
