State Bank of India reported audited standalone net profit of ₹70,900.63 crore for FY2024-25, up about 16% from ₹61,075.62 crore in FY24, while Q4 standalone PAT rose to ₹18,642.59 crore from ₹15,891.44 crore. Consolidated FY25 net profit stood at ₹77,561.34 crore versus ₹67,084.57 crore a year earlier. Total income (standalone) grew to ₹5,24,472.42 crore from ₹4,66,812.82 crore, with total assets crossing ₹73 lakh crore. Asset quality improved sharply, with gross NPAs falling to 1.82% (from 2.24%) and net NPAs to 0.47% (from 0.57%); capital adequacy ratio stood at 14.25%. The Board declared a dividend of ₹15.90 per share (1590%) with record date 16 May 2025 and payment on 30 May 2025. It also approved raising up to ₹25,000 crore of equity capital in FY26 via QIP, FPO, or other permitted modes. The statutory auditors issued an unmodified opinion on the results.
Strong profit growth, improving asset quality, and a healthy dividend are positive for shareholders, though the ₹25,000 crore equity raise could lead to some dilution depending on the mode and pricing. Stock may react positively to the clean results and improved NPA metrics, while dividend and growth metrics remain attractive for retail investors.
