State Bank of India's Board, at its May 3, 2025 meeting, approved audited financial results for Q4 and FY ending March 31, 2025, with an unmodified audit opinion. Standalone net profit for FY25 rose to Rs. 70,900.63 crores from Rs. 64,076.62 crores in FY24, while consolidated net profit grew to Rs. 77,561.34 crores from Rs. 67,084.67 crores. Asset quality improved, with gross NPAs falling to 1.82% (from 2.24%) and net NPAs to 0.47% (from 0.57%); Capital Adequacy Ratio stood at 14.25%. The Board declared a final dividend of Rs. 15.90 per share (1590%) with record date May 16, 2025 and payment date May 30, 2025. Separately, SBI plans to raise up to Rs. 25,000 crores of equity capital in FY26 through QIP, FPO, or other permitted modes.
Positive for shareholders: a healthy dividend yield combined with improving asset quality and steady profit growth signals continued strength. The proposed equity raise of up to Rs. 25,000 crores could lead to some dilution but supports future lending growth and capital adequacy.
