Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy has received a credit rating upgrade from Infomerics Valuation and Rating Ltd. The company has been assigned IVR BBB+/Stable for long-term bank facilities of Rs. 4,515.86 crore, IVR A2 for short-term facilities of Rs. 175 crore, and IVR BBB+/Stable/IVR A2 for combined facilities of Rs. 53 crore, totaling Rs. 4,943.86 crore. An additional Rs. 200 crore long-term facility has been reaffirmed at the same rating. Earlier, the company was rated by Acuité Ratings at ACUITE BBB-/Stable (long-term) and ACUITE A3 (short-term), meaning the new rating is a notch higher in the investment-grade category. The rating was based on the company's operational and financial performance in FY24 and FY25.
This upgrade from BBB- to BBB+ signals improved creditworthiness and lower default risk, which could help the company raise debt at better interest rates. For shareholders, it reflects strengthening financial health and is a positive sentiment signal, though the stock price reaction may be modest.
