Suryoday Small Finance Bank's Board, at its meeting on June 26, 2025, approved two re-appointments to be put before shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. First, Mr. Ranjit Jayant Shah, co-founder and Managing Partner of Gaja Capital, has been recommended for re-appointment as Non-Executive Non-Independent Investor Director, liable to retire by rotation. Second, Mr. Baskar Babu Ramachandran, who has led the bank since it became a small finance bank in January 2017 and co-founded the original microfinance entity in 2008, has been recommended for re-appointment as Managing Director & CEO for a further three-year term from January 23, 2026 to January 22, 2029. Both re-appointments are subject to shareholder approval at the AGM, and the MD & CEO re-appointment also requires Reserve Bank of India approval. The bank confirmed neither director is debarred by SEBI or any other authority.
This is a continuity announcement for retail shareholders — leadership is being retained rather than changed. Re-appointment of the existing MD & CEO signals management stability, but the proposal still requires RBI and shareholder approval before taking effect in January 2026.
