Suryoday Small Finance Bank submitted the transcript of its Q1 FY26 earnings call held on July 25, 2025. Gross advances stood at ₹10,846 crore, up 20% year-on-year, while deposits grew 39% YoY to ₹11,312 crore, with retail deposits rising to 82% of the mix. GNPA was 8.5% (₹918 crore) and NNPA 5.6% (₹593 crore), with ₹584 crore receivable under the CGFMU credit guarantee scheme, effectively covering nearly 100% of GNPA. Q1 slippages were ₹278 crore (of which ₹240 crore from microfinance), down from ₹308 crore in Q4 FY25, with management guiding for a further drop of ₹50-70 crore in Q2. The bank expects CGFMU claims of around ₹320 crore this year, mostly flowing in Q3, which should reduce headline GNPA. Credit cost is guided at around 1.2% for FY26, normalizing to ~1% on a steady-state basis, while NIMs are expected in the 7.5%-8% range. Management is maintaining a 55:45 secured-to-unsecured portfolio mix, with strong growth in commercial vehicles (50%+ YoY) and mortgages (30%+ YoY).
Positive for investor sentiment as the transcript confirms improving collection efficiency (98.4% in June vs 97.5% in April) and declining slippages, with meaningful CGFMU claim inflows expected in Q3 that should materially cut headline GNPA. However, persistent NIM pressure and an 8.5% GNPA remain near-term overhangs, though guided year-end GNPA of 5% and NNPA of 3% signal management confidence in a clean-up by FY26 end.
