Suryoday SFB crossed the ₹10,000 Cr mark in both Gross Advances (₹10,251 Cr, up 18.5% YoY) and Deposits (₹10,580 Cr, up 36% YoY) for FY25. However, profitability weakened sharply — Net Profit fell 46.8% YoY to ₹115 Cr, while RoA dropped to 0.9% from 2.1% and NIM compressed to 9.0% from 9.8%. Asset quality deteriorated significantly with GNPA rising to 7.2% (vs 2.8%) and NNPA to 4.6% (vs 0.8%), mainly driven by stress in the Inclusive Finance book, though 98% of the IF portfolio remains covered under CGFMU (₹460 Cr receivable). Cost-to-income ratio worsened to 70.6%. The bank shared FY26 guidance targeting 30-35% advance growth, 40-45% deposit growth, GNPA below 5%, and RoA improvement to 1.5-1.6%.
Despite strong business growth, the steep drop in profits and sharp rise in NPAs in the microfinance book is a concern for shareholders. The FY26 guidance for margin recovery and asset quality improvement, backed by CGFMU cover and shift to secured lending (55% target), offers some comfort, but execution and credit costs remain key watchpoints.
